Top Organic Competitors

The Top Organic Competitors report highlights the number of campaign keywords for which competitors are ranked in the top 20 organic search engine results, along with the number of tracked keywords for which the competitor's domain is ranking higher and/or lower than the campaign's primary domain.  Total Search Volume and Visibility Score are included to help provide additional insights.

Launch the Discovery screen to view side-by-side competitor and primary domain rank for keywords ranking on pages 1 and 2 of the search engine results.

Top 10 Organic Competitors Graph

View the number of your campaign keywords that the top 10 competitors are ranking for, along with their Visibility Score and the Total Search Volume.

Top Competitor Rank Comparison

Competitors Ranking in Top 20

The comparison table clearly details winners and losers in the race to the top of Google's search engine results. This report provides:

  • Total (overlapping Top 20) Keywords
    Number of Campaign Keywords for which the competitor ranked in the top 20 organic search engine results.
  • Competitor +
    The number of tracked Keywords for which the competitor's domain ranked higher than the Campaign Primary Domain in the Top 20 organic search engine results.
  • Competitor -
    The number of tracked Keywords for which the competitor's domain ranked lower than the Campaign Primary Domain in the Top 20 organic search engine results.
  • Delta
    The number of rank positions that the Campaign Primary domain ranked higher (green) or lower (red) than the competitor domain.
  • Total Search Volume
    The total amount of the broad number of Google global searches in a month for the specified, overlapping keywords.
  • Visibility Score
    Visibility Score is a Rank Ranger metric that is based on the position of ranking keywords and average search volume.

Click the Discovery icon to reveal competitor rank vs. the primary domain rank for campaign keywords, along with monthly search volume.

This organic competition report can be run for Google Global or any Google country-specific search engine. In this example we see that in the Global organic search, has won the top 2 search results positions for campaign keywords, but is a strong competitor having captured the 3rd rank position.

In this Competitor Comparison example, we see that with 10 keywords ranking in the top 10 search engine results, is clearly the winner over with respect to the campaign’s tracked keywords.

Report Options

General Settings:

  • Custom Report Title (optional)
  • Limit Results (optional)
  • Include Primary Domain (optional): this show/hide option adds the primary domain to the table. 
  • Show only competitors with the number of keywords in the Top 20 search results greater than 10, 20, 30, etc. (optional)
  • Show or Hide Display columns:
    Total Search Volume
    Visibility Score
Select Keywords


  • Select All or individual keywords
Filter data with Keyword Tags

Keyword Tags:

  • Select keyword tags to filter the report data. 
Keyword tags can be added to individual keywords or in bulk in the Campaign Settings > Keywords screen.
Select a Google Search Engine

Search Engines:

  • Select a Google Global, Google Country-specific or Google Mobile search engine

Click the Apply Changes button.


Add to PDF Report

Conveniently add a report or graph with its current settings to a PDF report by hovering over the gold gear icon and selecting Add to PDF Reports

Select the PDF Report that you want the report or graph added to

Drag the new report or graph into the position you want it to display in the PDF and confirm that the Date settings do not conflict with the automated scheduling settings.

Add to Marketing Dashboard

Conveniently add a report or graph with its current settings to a marketing dashboard:

1. Hover over the gold gear icon and select Add to Marketing Dashboard
2. Select the Dashboard (campaign name)
3. Select the Dashboard Page that you want the report added to

4. Click the "Go to Dashboard" link to further customize the report (e.g., drag it to a specific position on the page, change date settings, etc.)

Refer to the Report Options section for details regarding the display settings, filters and sort options available for this report.

The report date (or date range) is governed by the selected Dashboard date option: Date Selection or Fixed Periods, learn more...

  • Daily reports default to the last day of the selected period
  • Weekly and monthly reports default to 1 month of data
To change the number of weeks or months displayed in a specific report, click the gear icon for any marketing dashboard report element and expand the Date option section, enter the number and click the Save Button.

Add to Client Dashboard

Customize Report for Client Dashboard

Client Dashboards display our default report options for each individual report and graph until you modify them. To customize the display of the report, expand the Report Options section, change the settings and click the Apply Changes button.

Then expand Report Options again and hover over the Save icon and select Save as Default for Client Dashboard.

After saving the Client Dashboard default, any changes that you make to the report options will not affect the display in the Client Dashboard unless you overwrite it by following these instructions again.

Enable the Report or Graph to display in the Client Dashboard

Open the Campaign Settings > Client Dashboard screen and check the box corresponding to the report(s) you want displayed in the dashboard, and then click the Save button.
